The Quantitative HCG test can be used to test/monitor quantitative beta hCG levels in males on various different hCG regimens (100-150iu daily, 350iu BIW-TIW, 500iu BIW, etc.) for testosterone therapies. The reasoning would be to quantify the levels attained with various dosages and to attempt to correlate/mimic the endogenous equivalent (LH) as closely as possible. The quantitative beta hCG test is reported in the same units as the LH test (mIU/mL), so correlation would be straightforward. Thus far, we've basically been dosing hCG based on subjective response/data, however adding this objective measure might help us to determine (and validate) an ideal hCG regimen/dosing for our patients.
